Next generation distributed smart solar technology that makes solar a more reliable and cost-effective part of the energy mix
What is the future of technology that will transform the nation’s electric grid into a more distributed, reliable, and resilient architecture that can facilitate a higher penetration of renewable resources?
At this conference, attendees will learn about innovative technologies developed through the Solar Energy Grid Integration Systems (SEGIS) initiative, which was launched by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Sandia
National Laboratories (Sandia) to develop advancements that would maintain or improve power quality and reliability while increasing PV solar technologies contributions and economic value to the U.S. electrical grid. Through industry partnerships, such as their collaboration with Petra Solar, the DOE and Sandia have enabled the commercialization and advanced integration of the nextgeneration solar and smart grid energy technologies.
The SEGIS Demonstration Conference will assemble key stakeholders and technology experts from DOE, Sandia, utility executives, Wall Street investors, influential policy makers, leading industry market analysis from Greentech Media Research and much more.
The DOE, Sandia, and Petra Solar will present the developed and ongoing technologies as part of the SEGIS program for increasing the PV penetration into the utility grid, while improving the power quality, efficiency and the reliability of the utility grid.
• Distributed PV Systems with Intelligent Interfaces
• Automated Voltage Regulation, achieved through:
o Dynamic reactive power (VAR) injection
o Automated active power curtailment
• Power Ramp Rate Management
• Voltage Ride Through
• Microgrid Operation and Management

Panel discussions with utility partners will present actual experiences and grid reliability challenges of large scale PV integration. Attendees will come away with practical knowledge of how SEGIS technology solves real-world problems and an understanding of the value-add for utilities and owners of SEGIS enabled PV systems.
Join Us! The U.S. Department of Energy, Sandia National Laboratories and Petra Solar inviteyou to attend the conference. There is no cost to attend this event, however attendees are responsible for their own travel expenses.
The conference will include a real-world
demonstration of these SEGIS technologies
using the 5kW SunWave Ground-Mount
Array Solution in the Atlantic City Electric
substation yard.
